Welcome to Digital Kenya!
The Digital Kenya Secretariat is responsible for ensuring the country migrates from analogue to digital television broadcasting before the worldwide deadline of 2015.
Digital Kenya is the brand name associated with the migration process from analog to digital broadcasting in Kenya. A Digital Television Committee (DTC) was setup by the government in 2008 to steer the migration process. December 9, 2009 was a historic day in Kenya, a day that dramatically changed how we watch television.
The migration to Digital Television broadcasting is a Government initiative resulting from the decision made at the Regional Radio Conference of 2006 in Geneva, Switzerland (RRC-06). The decision requires countries in the RRC planning area to migrate from analogue to digital terrestrial TV broadcasting technologies by 17th June 2015.
